The ministry of youth and sports trimmed the Paralympics-bound Bangladesh contingent to seven from 13 by cancelling government orders of six officials, stated a media release provided by the ministry on Friday.

The Paralympics begin in Paris on Wednesday.

Youth and sports adviser Asif Mahmud cancelled the government order of July 18 and approved the new GO of seven members instead of a 13-member contingent after the ministry took note of the complaints aired in various media related to the team.

With the new decision, para-archers Al-Amin Hossain, Juma Akter, and coach Nishit Das, guest of organising committee Shaikh Abdus Salam, head of delegation Fakhruddin Haider, physician Monirul Islam, and archery official Asif Sobhan will travel to Paris.

The guests of organising committee Maksudur Rahman and Rebeca Sultana, chef de mission support Nigar Haider, team official Mohammad Faissal Ahsan Ullah, and the two government officials Aminul Islam and Anaul Haque were barred to go from the previous GO.
