Hafiz Md Hasan Babu has resigned as chairman of the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
He sent the resignation letter to the DSE and the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission through an email, said DSE聽deputy general manager聽Shafiqur聽Rahman on Monday.
Shafiqur said that Hafiz submitted his resignation, citing personal reasons.
Hafiz鈥檚 resignation came following the demand for his removal along with reformation of the DSE director board from the DSE Brokerage Association of Bangladesh on August 12.
Hafiz Md Hasan Babu was approved as one of four independent directors of the DSE by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission on February 20, 2023.
Later, he was elected chairman of the board of the Dhaka Stock Exchange at its board meeting on March 5, the same year.
