A Dhaka metropolitan magistrate court on Sunday placed former senior secretary to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Shah Kamal, on five day-remand in a case filed with the Mohammadpur police station.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Mahbub Ahammed passed the order disposing of a petition for 10-day remand by the police.

Earlier on Saturday evening, the Detective Branch of the Dhaka Metropalitan Police arrested the former senior secretaryin a raid at Mohakhali in the capital city Dhaka.
On Friday evening, the DMP in a raid also seized Bangladeshi and foreign currency worth Tk 3.10 crore from his Babar Road house in the capital.
