The rally called by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party was held in front of its Naya Paltan central office in Dhaka with the participation of tens of thousands of people.
The party acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, addressed the rally virtually from London as the chief guest. A recorded video message of the party chairperson, Khaleda Zia, was played in the rally聽聽
Senior BNP leaders including the party secretary general Fakhrul Islam Alamgir addressed the rally.
The rally began at about 2:45pm and ended at about 4:40pm.
This was the first rally of BNP after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5.
BNP leaders and activists gathered before the party鈥檚 Naya Paltan central office with processions carrying banners, festoons, placards, and portraits of the party鈥檚 top leaders from different parts of Dhaka since morning to join the rally.
