Revenue collection by the National Board of Revenue fell short of the revised target, but witnessed a 15.40-per cent growth in the past financial year (2023-24) bagging Tk聽3,82,562 crore.

The revised revenue collection target for FY24 was Tk聽4.10 lakh crore, according to NBR data.


The NBR鈥檚 revenue collection in FY23 was Tk聽3,31,502 crore.

Talking to the BSS, a senior NBR official preferring anonymity said that the overall revenue collection in the past financial year was satisfactory despite the restrictions on import of some products.

The NBR data showed that in the past financial year, the highest amount of Tk聽1,50,717 crore came from VAT with a 20.17-per cent growth, the 2nd highest Tk聽1,31,025 crore came from income tax and travel tax having a 15.60-per cent growth while the 3rd highest Tk聽1,00,819 crore came from customs duty with a 8.72-per cent growth.
