Rastra Sankar Andolan, a component of Ganatantra Mancha, on Monday demanded the resignation of Awami League government on charges of killings common people in the name of controlling students’ movement for quota system reformation in civil services.

A press release of the party, signed by its chief coordinator Hasnat Quaiyum, also demanded the resignation of prime minister Sheikh Hasina and handing over power to president Mohammed Shahabuddin.


Their demands include immediate end of killings and repressions in the name of controlling movement and withdrawal of curfew, law enforcers, including army and Boarder Guard Bangladesh, immediate restoration of internet service, withdrawal of cases filed against the students, release of the opposition politicians and students, who were arrested, reopening of all educational institutions and trials of the responsible for killing of more than 150 people and students during the movement, complete implementation of nine point demands of the students and ensuring their safety and securities.

The party also called on the people to organise movements against the government to compel them resign from the power.
