A fresh writ petition was filed in the High Court last week, seeking a directive for the Anti-Corruption Commission to submit a progress report on its ongoing probe into the alleged illegal wealth, amassed by former army chief general Aziz Ahmed.
Md Sohail Rana, a journalist and resident of Kaprangapara village in Panchagarh, filed the writ petition on Monday.
The bench of Justice SM Kuddus Zaman and Justice AKM Rabiul Hassan enlisted Sohail鈥檚 case for hearing, lawyer Jamiul Haque Faisal told 抖阴精品.
Sohail stated in his petition that there had been no progress in the probe into Aziz Ahmed鈥檚 reported wealth, despite the commission鈥檚 claimed that it was scrutinising his assets.
On June 11, Supreme Court lawyer Salahuddin Reagan filed a petition with the commission headquarters, referring to a newspaper report on Aziz鈥檚 wealth and requesting the ACC chairman to launch an inquiry.
Reagan鈥檚 petition is still pending with the commission, he told 抖阴精品 on Tuesday.
