Members of the Armed Police Battalion arrested a woman who allegedly carried cocaine on a flight from Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport on Monday.

The woman identified as Stalia Shantae, a citizen of the Bahamas, comes from a Caribbean country.


Humayan Kabir, Deputy Director of the Narcotic Control Department has confirmed the news.

He said in collaboration with the Airport, APBN and Airport Management Team, they had detained the woman who was under surveillance when she landed in Chattogram on 12th July (Friday).

On Friday she came to Chattogram from Brazil by Fly Dubai. She took transit to Dubai by an Amirat flight and is now staying at Hotel Agrabad. This morning, she came to the airport to collect her luggage where she was arrested by APBN for carrying 3.9 KG of cocaine.

Airport authorities handed her over to the Narcotic Control Department after detention.
