Alliance for聽 Sustainable Development Foundation, a not for profit organisation, arranged Tree Plantation and Climate Awareness Campaign-2024 at Bangahaban Government High School in Dhaka at recently aiming for making Dhaka a better place to live in.

The programme started with a quiz competition on climate change among the students of the school. Five groups consisting of 5 students in a group participated in that quiz contest. The winners were given saplings by the guests, said a press release.


The discussion on climate awareness was started at 10:00am. MD Mijanur Rahman, former director general (grade-1), Department of Disaster Management, inaugurated the programme as chief guest.

Professor Mihir Lal Saha, chairman, Department聽 of Botany and provost, Jagannath Hall, University of Dhaka and Mirza Shawkat聽 Ali, director (climate聽 change聽 and international聽 convention) and聽 Nurul Afser, head聽 of corporate, PRAN聽 were present and gave speech as special guests in that programme.

MD Mahbub Hasan, founder and executive director of Alliance for Sustainable Development Foundation gave the vote of thanks to the distinguished guests for their participation in the tree planting programme and support for climate justice.

MD Zahid Ahsan, police liaison officer, Office of the President was the chair of this philanthropic event while Ayesha Khan Faria was anchoring the discussion session nicely.

All the respected guests and the students participated in planting flowers, fruits and medicine trees at the school premise. Moreover, fresh saplings were distributed among the headmistress, teachers and students of the school.

An environmental CSR initiative of PRAN group, the largest recycler of plastic in Bangladesh, was the Food and Beverage Partner for this environment friendly program of Alliance for Sustainable Development Foundation.

A team of young volunteers namely Fahim, Sourav, Nahed, Hasib, Alisha, Mayeeshah of ASDF worked tirelessly to make the climate event successful.

The Bangabhaban Govt Primary School headmistress Suravi Akhtar thanked ASDF and all the guests, volunteers, teachers and students for organising and participating at this climate friendly occasion and contributing to reforestation and temperature reduction initiatives in the capital.
