Social media platform TikTok has removed 7,171,832 videos uploaded from Bangladesh for breaching community guidelines during the past three months, said a press release.

Most of the videos — 99.4 per cent — were removed proactively while 94.0 per cent of videos were removed within 24 hours of posting.


In a global effort to safeguard younger users, TikTok also deleted 21,639,414 accounts suspected of belonging to individuals under the age of 13.

In Q1 2024, TikTok removed 166,997,307 videos worldwide, representing about 0.9 per cent of all videos uploaded on the platform.

A substantial portion of these, 129,335,793 videos, were identified and removed through automated detection technologies, while 6,042,287 videos were reinstated upon further review.
