
The Anti-Corruption Commission on Sunday approved a charge sheet against former Bagerhat district registrar Fazlar Rahman in a case filed on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 1.75 crore.
The commission approved the charge sheet against him from the commission鈥檚 headquarters in Dhaka, said ACC deputy director for public relations Aktarul Islam.
Earlier, the ACC assistant director, Sarder Abul Basar, also the investigation officer in the case, submitted the charge sheet to the commission for approval.
ACC assistant director Komlesh Mandal filed the case against Fazlar Rahman with its integrated district office in Faridpur on August 31, 2021.
According to the charge sheet, Fazlar Rahman showed movable and immovable assets worth Tk 2.83 crore in his wealth statement submitted to the ACC.
The commission found legal sources against his wealth worth Tk 1.07 crore, and the rest of the wealth was amassed beyond known sources of income, according to the charge sheet.
