The first death anniversary of spiritual leader Hazrat Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Ahmadullah (R), also the immediate past pir of Azimpur Dayera Sharif, was observed at Azimpur Dayera Sharif in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The religious event was observed with a discussion on the life of Alhaj Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Ahmadullah Zubayer and recitations of durud, zikir, and doa, said a press release.
The present custodian of Azimpur Dayera Sharif and spiritual leader, Shah Sufi Sayed Alhaj Hazrat Maulana Enam Ullah Zuhaer, also the son of Alhaj Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Ahmadullah, conducted the discussion and prayer session.
He also led the supplication at the congregation attended by hundreds of devotees where he prayed and sought divine blessings for the wellbeing of Bangladesh and also for the Muslim ummah around the world, especially for the Muslims oppressed in different parts of the world.
Alhaj Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Ahmadullah, a lineal descendant of Shah Sufi Syed Muhammed Dayem (R) who came to Dhaka in the mid-eighteenth century to preach Islam and established Azimpur Dayera Sharif, died in Dhaka on July 14, 2023 at the age of 77.
