The Dhaka University Debating Society has bagged the ‘Future Voices Face-off 2024’ inter-university debate competition recently.

Organised by the EMK Center in partnership with the Bangladesh Debate Federation, the event brought together 32 universities of the country to foster intellectual growth and debating skills among the youth of Bangladesh, said a press release issued on Thursday.


The Rajshahi University Debating Forum secured the runner-up position in the Asian Parliamentary-style tournament.

Ragib Anjum from Dhaka University was honoured as the best speaker in the final, while ZH Masud from North South University was named the best debater of the tournament.

Abdun Noor Tushar, and the BDF president Plaban Gongopaddhay, among others, were present at the grand finale and closing ceremony held at the Kennedy Hall of the EMK Center in Gulshan.

Plaban Gongopaddhay stated, ‘The BDF is dedicated to fostering logical thinking and rational discourse among young people, ensuring their voices are heard in shaping a wise and rational society for the future.’

The Future Voices Face-off serves as a testament to the thriving culture of debate and intellectual engagement among Bangladesh’s university students, paving the way for the next generation of leaders and thinkers.
