A college student was crushed under the wheels of a Chittagong University shuttle train in Sholashahar 2 gate area in Chattogram city on Wednesday morning.
The deceased is Irfan, 19, son of Mahbubur Alam, of Sundarpur area of Fatikchari upazila and a student of class XI of humanities department of CMP School and College.
SM Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of the Railway police station, said that Irfan was walking on the rail tracks wearing headphones.
He was listening to music and he didn鈥檛 hear the sound of the approaching train, he said.
Later, police recovered the body.
Nurul Alam Asheque, in charge of the CMCH police outpost, said that Irfan was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The body was kept at the CMCH morgue, he added.
