Members of the Rapid Action Battalion arrested an arms dealer with ten single-shot guns in his possession at the bordering Bagha upazila in Rajshahi.
The arrested is Abdur Rashid, 35, a resident of Pakshi village under Ishwardi upazila in Pabna, said a RAB-5 press release.
The release stated that acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force arrested Abdur Rashid at Alaipur Napitpara village under Bagha upazila early Wednesday and recovered the ten single-shot guns wrapped in an adhesive tape and polythene in a big tin box.
During primary interrogation, Abdur Rashid admitted that he in the guise of a car driver used to collect weapons and later sold them to various arms traders.
A case was filed against the arrested with the Bagha police station under the Arms Act, the press release added.
