Prime minister Narendra Modi held two poll rallies in West Bengal鈥檚 Jadavpur and Barasat on Tuesday continuing his attacks on Trinamool Congress president and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, reports India TV News.
At the Jadavpur rally, Modi batted for the implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act in West Bengal, saying TMC can鈥檛 stop CAA as it has got unwavering support from the people.
鈥楥AA is a law to give citizenship not to snatch away the citizenship of anyone but TMC is spreading misinformation about it to scare their vote bank,鈥� he added.
Slamming Banerjee, he said Maa-Mati-Manush seems like empty slogans now and TMC has no commitment to this principle.
Addressing an election rally in Barasat, Modi flayed the TMC government for 鈥榮natching the rights of Other Backward Class youths鈥� to facilitate its appeasement politics and 鈥榲ote jihad鈥�.
The PM, without naming Banerjee, criticised her for questioning the judges of the Calcutta High Court and wondered if the TMC would now 鈥榣et loose its goons on judges鈥� following unfavourable rulings.
鈥楾he court has exposed the treachery of the Trinamool Congress with the OBCs. The party snatched the rights of OBC youths to support its appeasement politics and 鈥榲ote jihad鈥�. The TMC has betrayed the OBCs of West Bengal,鈥� he asserted.
The Calcutta High Court had last week struck down the OBC status of several classes in West Bengal granted since 2010, finding such reservations to vacancies in services and posts in the state illegal.
Banerjee had said she will 鈥榥ot accept鈥� the ruling, dubbing it as a verdict passed under the influence of the BJP.
It is quite evident that TMC doesn鈥檛 like those who expose its treachery and lies. I am astonished to see how the party is questioning the judiciary.
Don鈥檛 they have any faith in the judiciary and our Constitution? 鈥楾he way they are attacking judges is unprecedented. I would like to know whether the TMC would now let loose its goons on judges as they are exposed?鈥� Modi said.
The PM also took umbrage at Banerjee鈥檚 recent comments against a few monks of the Ramakrishna Mission and Bharat Sevashram Sangha and alleged these socio-religious organisations were being threatened to appease the TMC鈥檚 vote bank.
