A fire broke out at KB Girls School and College in Aditmari upazila Sadar of Lalmonirhat during the school hours Sunday afternoon.
Zahurul Islam, assistant principal of the school, said that at least three students were injured while they were running away in panic during the fire.
After receiving the information, Aditmari fire service personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. Two classrooms of the institute were burnt in the fire and 10 fans, doors and windows of the classrooms were damaged.
Zahurul Islam said that seeing fire in the classroom, the students got scared and came outside the room in panic. Three students were slightly injured as they were running away during the fire.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit, he added.
