
A group of students from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, accompanied by vice-chancellor professor Imran Rahman, on Thursday presented a formal letter to Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Md Atiqul Islam, requesting for the construction of an entry-exit pathway from Beribadh Road to the ULAB campus, as well as installing street lamps to ensure the safety of faculty, staff and students.
The current pathway to the campus, shared with another organisation, has become inadequate for 6,000 students, studying at the university, said a press release.
The student number is projected to increase in the coming months as authorities have planned to construct a new academic building.
Brigadier general Amirul Islam, advisor to the mayor and Farid Uddin, mayor’s APS were present at the event while the delegates of ULAB included registrar lieutenant colonel Md Foyzul Islam (retired) Taufiq Aziz, senior manager, external affairs, and other members of the administrative team.
