Newly appointed pro-vice-chancellor (academic) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Professor Mohammad Atiqur Rahman on Friday paid rich tributes to Bangladesh鈥檚 founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
After laying the wreath, the Pro-VC stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.
Later, he offered prayer seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.
A special prayer was offered seeking blessing of Allah for the prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.
Professor AKM Khurshidul Alam, Ariful Islam Zoaddar Tito, Zakir Sumon, senior vice president of Tungipara upazila Awami League Elias Hossain, its joint general secretary Sheikh Ziaul Basir Tutul, municipal mayor Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul,聽 among others, were present.
