The Global Bangladeshis’ Alliance for Human Rights held a protest rally in front of the Indian High Commission in London on Monday to extend their support for boycotting Indian products.

The organisation also submitted a memorandum to the Indian foreign minister through the Indian HC in London, demanding immediate end to killing Bangladeshis along the Bangladesh-India border and India’s interference in Bangladesh’s internal affairs, according to a press release issued by GBAHR.


GBAHR is a platform of 21 community-based human rights organisations in London.

The alliance convener and London-based Weekly Surma editor Shamsul Alam Liton presided over the rally, while writer Rakesh Rahman and the alliance senior fellow Rupom Razzaque moderated it.

Acclaimed photographer Shahidul Alam, among others, addressed the rally virtually.

Barrister Zakir Hasan, TV journalist Sheikh Muhitul Rahman Bablu, Muslim Khan of Nirapad Bangladesh Chai and Borhan Uddin Chowdhury of Fight for Right International also spoke, according to the press release.
