Workers Party of Bangladesh president Rashed Khan Menon on Monday said that imperialism was spreading wars worldwide. But the wars would not be able to save imperialism and their abolition was a must.
He was speaking at a discussion meeting, organised by the Workers Party at the national press club in Dhaka to mark 154th birth anniversary of Vladimir Lenin.
Rashed Khan Menon said that people, in different countries, were organising resistance against imperialism. But in Bangladesh, BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami were working in favour of the imperialism.
He said that their party would work for establishing rights of the common people and bringing positive changes in their life.
Central leader of the party Sharif Shamshir read out the keynote paper at the programme. He said that the fall of imperialism would create the scope for establishment of socialism.
Chaired by politburo member of the party Quamrul Ahsan, central leaders Abul Hossain, Sadakat Hossain Babul, Kishore Roy, Mostofa Alamgir Ratan, and Dhaka University teacher Khairul Islam Rupam also spoke at the programme.
