
Fiction writer Sadia Mahjabin Imam’s new collection of short stories titled Manusher Galpa is now available at different bookshops.
Published by Pathak Shamabesh and cover designed by artist Anisuzzaman Shohel, Manusher Galpa contains 10 short stories.
The book contains stories depicting social anomalies, plight of the marginalised, folk beliefs of the people in localities near the Sundarban of Bangladesh, human emotions and others.
‘In the book, I have written five stories based on the folk beliefs of the people in localities near the Sundarban of Bangladesh. Foresters, thieves, devotees, local journalists, and people of the coastal areas have gained importance in the stories,’ Sadia Mahjabin told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ·.
She also sheds light on human relations in urban life in a few stories of the book.
‘People have always been carrying some beliefs and the continuity of reforms. I would like to say that the stories of Manusher Galpa written on the basis of that thought,’ mentioned Sadia Mahjabin.
Sadia Mahjabin Imam’s literary works include Paa, Raktamoole Bichchhed, Baidik Pakhir Gaan and Chetanar Uttaradhikar.
Manusher Galpa is available at the outlets of Pathak Shamabesh in the capital and in Kolkata, India. The book can also be bought on online platforms, including Rokomari.
