The Cyber Tribunal of Chattogram on Monday issued an arrest warrant against Gono Odhikar Parishad faction president Nurul Haque Nur under the Digital Security Act for his 鈥榙erogatory鈥� remark on education minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury two years ago in the port city.
Judge M Zahirul Kabir passed the order in the afternoon against Nur, also former vice-president of the Dhaka University Central Students鈥� Union.
On June 14, 2022, lawyer Shahriar Yasir Arafat Tanim, also former law secretary of Chattogram University Chhatra League, filed a case under DSA against Nur, accusing him of making derogatory remark on Mohibul, the then state minister for education.
Confirming the matter, public prosecutor Mejbha Uddin Chowdhury of the tribunal said that the police submitted charge-sheet against Nur in the case on February 6 this year.
