Theatre Art Unit premiered its production titled Balay at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka on Friday.

Balay, the 40th production of the troupe has been written, designed and directed by Mokaddem Morshed.

The play depicts the dialectic of human nature about the existence and freedom in a never-ending cycle.

The play revolves round three characters: a politician, a scientist, and a theologian who are successful in their respective fields but dissatisfied with their lives. They came to a psychologist for counselling sessions, and during the sessions they shared thoughts with each other about freedom.

‘We move from one circle to another circle in our life, including the political and social sphere. The play depicts the realisation about life which flows in a never ending circle,’ said Mokaddem Morshed.

The members of Theatre Art Unit, including Mahamuda Hossain Bhabna, Kamruzzaman Millat, and Selim Mahbub have played different characters in the play.

Sudip Chakroborthy designed the stage lighting while Selim Mahbub designed the background music for the play.Â
