The Bangladesh girl鈥檚 Under-16 tennis team returned home on Thursday, after competing in the Junior Billie Jean King Cup 2025 tournament in Kuching, Malaysia.听
Bangladesh finished in 10th place out of 14 participating countries.听
In the group stage, Bangladesh lost to Singapore 0-3 and 1-2 to Lebanon but secured a 2-1 win against Brunei, finishing third.
The juniors defeated Mongolia 3-0 but lost to Pacific Oceania 1-2 in the playoffs to exit the tournament.
The Bangladesh team departed on March 1 with a four-member team comprising Sumaiya Akhtar (Jhalakathi Tennis Club), Humayra Haider Zara (National Tennis Complex), Yana Chowdhury (Naogaon Tennis Club), and captain Rajnita Chowdhury.
The event featured players from the Philippines, Guam, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia, Pacific Oceania, Maldives, Mongolia, Singapore, Lebanon, Brunei, and Bangladesh.
