Popular actor Waliul Haq Rumi died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka in the wee hours of Monday. He was 60.
Waliul Haq Rumi was suffering from colon cancer. He is survived by his widow, son and daughter.
Waliul Haq Rumi began his journey acting in the play titled 鈥楰reetodash鈥� in 1989. He made his small screen debut with 鈥楰on Kanoner Phool鈥� in the same year. He made his silver screen debut with 鈥楧oriaparer Douloti鈥� in 2009.
He won the hearts of the audience playing characters speaking in the regional dialect of Barishal.
He acted in dramas, including 鈥楤okashoka Tinjan鈥�, 鈥楳akeup Man鈥�, 鈥楧haka to Barishal鈥�, 鈥楽uggestion Selim鈥�, 鈥楯ourney by Bus鈥� and others.
Waliul Haq Rumi was buried in Barguna, Barishal.
