
Telecom operator Robi has recently posted its financial reports for the second quarter of 2025, said a press release.
Robi’s Profit After Tax reached Tk 257.4 crore in the reporting quarter.
Commenting on Robi’s financial performance, the company’s acting CEO and chief financial officer M Riyaaz Rasheed said, ‘We are highly encouraged to see Robi bouncing back to winning ways at the end of Q2 of 2025. Significant addition of new subscribers indicates our laser focus on quality of service is yielding solid results. Cost efficiency drive continues to gain momentum with application of new home-grown digital solutions.’
However, he cautioned that growing concentration of market power would undermine opportunities telecom reform was expected to unlock.
Riyaaz urged the telecom regulator to address this long-standing problem for equitable growth in the industry.
Robi’s revenue in the second quarter of 2025 was tk 2,554.8 crore following a decline of 1.9 per cent compared with that of the same quarter last year.
Earnings Before Income Tax, Depreciation and Amortization reached Tk 1,346.7 crore with 52.7 per cent margin at the end of the said quarter. Year-on-year EBITDA saw a growth of 10.1 per cent. Despite decline in year-on-year revenue, year-on-year PAT grew by grew by 139.5 per cent, the release said.
Robi paid Tk 1,593.6 crore to the government exchequer, which was 62 per cent of the total revenue for the quarter. It made capex investment of Tk 228.2 crore in the quarter. Earnings per Share for was Tk 0.49. Year-on-year EPS rose by 139.5 per cent, it said.
Active subscribers base reached 5 crore 74 lakh following addition of 10 lakh new subscribers in the quarter. Data subscribers in the quarter reached 4 crore 41 lakhs. Meanwhile, with 17 lakhs new 4G subscribers added in the same quarter, the total 4G subscriber base reached 3 crore 85 lakh.
At the end of the second quarter, 76.8 per cent of its total subscribers were data subscribers and 67 per cent were 4G subscribers.
