A two-day International Conference on ¶Ù²¹³Ù²¹Ìý³§³¦¾±±ð²Ô³¦±ð, AI and Applications (ICDSAIA 2025) kicked off on Friday at EATL Innovation Hub, located at Kaliakoir Hi-Tech City in Gazipur district.

The event brings together renowned researchers, academicians, policymakers, and technology experts from Bangladesh and around the globe to explore the transformative potential of data science and artificial intelligence across various sectors.


Finance adviser Salehuddin Ahmed attended the inaugural session of the conference as chief guest while vice-chancellor of the University of Dhaka Niaz Ahmad Khan, managing director of Pubali Bank PLC Mohammad Ali and VC of Digital University Mohammad Abu Yousuf were present as special guests.

Managing director of EATL Innovation Hub MA Mubin Khan delivered the welcome speech while chairman of EATL Innovation Hub Md Abdul Karim  presided over the session.

The conference is jointly organised by EATL Innovation Hub, Bangladesh’s first private innovation centre, and the University of Salford, a prestigious public university in the United Kingdom, with over a century of academic excellence.

The primary objective of the conference is to promote innovative applications of data science and AI, and to define future directions in education, healthcare, industry and public policy through these emerging technologies.

This year’s technical programme received 218 full paper submissions from across the world. 

Head of computer science and software engineering at the University of Salford Mo Saraee chaired the Technical Programme Committee.

On the opening day, IEEE fellow and director of the Big Data Analytics and Management Lab at the University of Texas, Dallas Latifur Khan delivered the keynote address.

On the second day, that is today, Sushmita Mitra of Indian Statistical Institute will present a keynote on advancements in machine intelligence.

The closing session will feature a welcome speech by director of international development at the University of Salford Nancy Cooke while chief guest will be secretary of the ICT Division Shish Haider Chowdhury.

Bangladesh National University VC ASM Amanullah, professor of the University of Salford Mo Saraee and managing director of EATL Innovation Hub MA Mubin Khan will attend the session.

Shivkumar Palaniappan will conduct a workshop on emerging trends in artificial intelligence. Another workshop will also be held on the applications of AI in the healthcare sector, with participation from leading physicians and policymakers in the country.

Throughout the two-day event, there will be workshops, panel discussions, poster exhibitions and the presentation of 16 research papers across four thematic tracks.

MA Mubin Khan remarked, ‘This conference will open new frontiers in technology and research. We are proud to host such a prestigious international event in Bangladesh.’
