Anmol Bishnoi, a key accused in the 2024 firing incident outside Salman Khan鈥檚 Mumbai home and the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, was extradited to India from the United States, reports NDTV.
The Patiala House Court in Delhi granted 15-day police custody for Bishnoi, who is also implicated in several high-profile criminal cases, adds the report available online.
Bishnoi, the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was deported from the US on Tuesday and landed in New Delhi on Wednesday afternoon.
He had been arrested in Sacramento, California in November 2024 for entering the country with illegal documents. His arrest followed a non-bailable warrant issued by a Maharashtra court and a Red Corner Notice from Interpol.
According the report, upon his arrival in Delhi, Bishnoi was formally arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), subjected to a medical check-up, and produced before the Patiala House Court. The NIA requested a 15-day custody, and the court granted 11 days for further interrogation.
The NIA intends to question Bishnoi in connection with several criminal cases across multiple states, including Mumbai, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana. Among the most significant cases are the murder of Baba Siddique in October 2024, the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala in Punjab鈥檚 Mansa district in May 2022, and the firing outside Salman Khan鈥檚 residence in April 2024, reads the report.
In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, Zeeshan Siddique, son of the slain former minister, confirmed that he had been actively following up with US authorities for months on Bishnoi鈥檚 extradition. He emphasized that the gangster was wanted in connection with his father鈥檚 murder.
