At least eight Indians were killed and 29 others wounded on Wednesday in the town of Poonch in Kashmir, close to the de facto border with Pakistan, a local Indian government official said.
Poonch鈥檚 local revenue officer Azhar Majid told AFP from the town鈥檚 hospital that there had been 鈥�29 injured and eight deaths鈥�, as Indian and Pakistani forces exchanged heavy artillery fire.
