The Left Democratic Alliance and the Bangladesh Jasod will hold a national convention in Dhaka on November 29 to forge a greater unity of the left and democratic political parties.

LDA coordinator and Socialist Party of Bangladesh general secretary Bazlur Rashid Firoz made the announcement at a press conference at the office of the Communist Party of Bangladesh in the capital鈥檚 Purana Paltan area.

He said that the LDA, a combine of six left political parties, and the Bangladesh Jasod鈥檚 national convention would be held to forge a greater unity of left and democratic political forces for a democratic transition in the country.

He said that the day-long convention would be held at the Engineers Institution of Bangladesh and leaders and activists of different left and democratic political parties would attend the convention.
