The 53rd founding anniversary of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal will be observed today.
The party was formed on October 31, 1972 by the then student and youth leaders who played the leading role in the War of Independence of the country in 1971.
Different factions of the party have taken elaborate programmes to observe the day.
The Jatiya Samajtanrik Dal-JSD will hold a discussion meeting at the National Press Club auditorium at 11:00am today. JSD president ASM Abdur Rob will chair the discussion.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party secretary general, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and Ganatantra Mancha leaders are expected to address the meeting.
The Bangladesh Jasod will hold a discussion and reunion at聽3:00pm today in the National Press Club聽to mark the day.
The Bangladesh Jasod president, Sharif Nurul Ambia, will chair the discussion, and leaders of different political parties will speak at the programme, a party press release said.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-Jasod will hold a discussion meeting at the Colonel Taher Auditorium in Dhaka at 4:00pm to mark the day.
