The National Citizen Party has withdrawn its show-cause notice against joint convener Sarwar Tusher, reinstating him into all party responsibilities, according to a press release issued on Saturday.

The party served the notice as allegations of moral misconduct were raised against Tusher following a leaked phone conversation, allegedly between him and a woman, went viral on social media drawing huge criticism.

In his written reply, submitted to the convener, member secretary, political council, and disciplinary committee, Sarwar defended his position, said the press release, signed by joint member secretary Saleh Uddin Sifat.

In compliance with the show-cause directives, Sarwar refrained from all organisational activities for two months, including participation in the nationwide July march and representing the party in the National Consensus Commission.

After reviewing the incident, Sarwar’s written reply, and other evidence, the party decided to reinstate him into all his organisational responsibilities, the press release added.
