
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD president and freedom fighter ASM Abdur Rob on Friday said that the signs of the rise of fascism were being seen again in the country after the victory of students and people鈥檚 mass uprising on August 5, 2024.
But the student community would resist such a conspiracy of rising fascist rule again, he said in a meeting with the central representatives of Chhatra League, the student wing of the party, at his home in the capital鈥檚 Uttara.
He called on the student community to remain united so that no one could foil the achievements of the mass uprising.
Rob, also a former vice president of Dhaka University Central Students Union, called on the students to continue their movements to introduce a people-oriented education system for the country鈥檚 welfare.
JSD general secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon said that, after the fall of fascist Awami League rule, a scope was created to introduce a people-oriented and discrimination-free education system in the country.
The party senior vice president, Tania Rob, said that victory in last year鈥檚 uprising proved that student community could bring change against any misrule.
Chaired by Chhatra League vice president Tanjidur Rahman Pias, the meeting was addressed, among others, by its general secretary Abdullah Al Rafin, central leaders Rakibul Islam Shanta, Nabila Sultana, and Jabin Akhter, and former student leader and JSD central leaders Kamal Uddin Patwory, Syed Belayet Hossain Belal, and Mosharaf Hossain Montu.
In the second half of the meeting, a 71-member central committee of the Chhatra League was formed, electing Mosleh Uddin Bijoy president and Nabila Sultana general secretary.
