Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Juba Dal, the youth body of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, has expelled former organising secretary of its Chattogram city unit Emdadul Haque Badsha over allegations of extortion and land grabbing.
The organisation’s central committee made the decision to expel Badsha following recommendations of the committee formed to probe the allegations, according to a press release issued on Saturday by Jubo Dal central executive office.
The expulsion notice, signed by Jubo Dal central executive committee office secretary Nurul Islam Sohel, stated that the action was approved by the organisation president, Abdul Monayem Munna, and general secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan.
As per the official statement, Badsha’s primary membership has been revoked and he has been relieved from all organisational responsibilities. The release also stated that the party would not bear any responsibility for the misconduct of its expelled members.
‘All levels of Jubo Dal activists have been instructed to sever organisational ties with the expelled leader,’ the statement added.
The press release also urged law enforcement agencies to take necessary action if Emdadul Haque Badsha engaged in any unlawful activities falsely using the party identity in the future.
