At least three people, including an activist of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, were killed during Eid vacation in Jashore district.

The victims are Abdul Hye, 50, of Dubpara of Bahadurpur union council under the Benapole port police station, Sohana Akhter, 11, a student of Class V at Chandpur Madrassah and Mainuddin, 25, of Dakatia village under the Kotwali police.


Of the victims, BNP activist Abdul Hye was killed in a bomb attack at Dubpara of Bahadurpur union council under the Benapole police station at about 9:30pm on June 7, Eid Day, following a factional feud.

Benapole port police station officer-in-charge Rassel Mia said that the police detained two individuals in connection with the killing.

On June 9, the police recovered the body of Sohana Akhter, who had been missing since Eid Day, from a pond at Chandpur village, said Noor Mohammad Gazi, officer-in-charge of Jhikargachha police station.

Meawhile, a person named Mainuddin was hacked to death at Dakatia following a feud over a piece of land on June 9, said the police.
