
An activist of Bangladesh Nationalist Party who was injured critically in a clash between two rival groups of the party at Chhutipur in Jashore died early Sunday while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
The deceased, Asadul Haque Asha, 35, was a resident of Balia village under Jhikargachha, said Jhikargachha police station officer in-charge Bablur Rahman Khan.
The police said that at least three people were injured in the clash at Chhutipur on Saturday afternoon.
Of the injured, Asadul Haque was first taken to Jashore General Hospital with critical injuries. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He died in the hospital, said the police.Â
Both groups locked in clashes over occupying a market using local weapons, said the OC, adding that a case was filed with the police station.
‘A total of 6 people were arrested in this connection,’ he mentioned.
