The Socialist Students’ Front formed an 11-member convening committee for its Dhaka University unit at its 21st council on the DU campus on Saturday.
Muzammel Haque was named convener while Akash Ali as general secretary of the committee.
The SSF DU unit immediate past president Sadekul Islam Sadik presided over the council and announced the committee.
Central leaders of the organisation, including president Salman Siddiqui, general secretary Rafiqujjaman Farid and organising secretary Pragati Barman Tama, were present at the council.
‘As an organisation, we have always stood by every democratic movement,’ said Salman Siddiqui at the council, adding that the DU unit would continue to play an active role in the struggle for a fear-free democratic campus, right to education and protection of human dignity.
The members of the new committee are Motiar Rahman, Razequzzaman Jewel, Ahmed Araf, Ashaduzzaman Ashad, Md Ehtesham Muhib, Yasir Arafat,Tafsirullah, Tasvir Ahmed and Hridoy Hawladar.
