
The Rapid Action Battalion on Saturday arrested former Awami League lawmaker for Feni-3 Rahim Ullah in the capital’s Dhanmondi area and former Moulvibazar-3 lawmaker Zillur Rahman’s younger brother Ataur Rahman at Srimangal Rail Crossing area.
A team of the RAB-2 arrested Rahim Ullah in a case filed over killing of a three-wheeler driver Zafar Ahmed, 53, during the anti-discrimination student movement in Feni’s Sonagazi, said a RAB press release.
The press release also said that legal proceeding and handing over Rahim to police was underway.
¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· correspondent in Moulvibazar reported that RAB-9 arrested Ataur Rahman, 46, younger brother of former Moulvibazar-3 lawmaker, an accused of vandalism and violence in the recent student-mass movement in July-August.
A raid was conducted at the Srimangal Rail Crossing area.
The RAB-9 company commander Abdullah Al Noman said that he was handed over to the Moulvibazar model police station.
Ataur Rahman was a chairman of Tarapasha union parishad of Rajnagar upazila in the district.
