The Gonoforum and its faction will hold a joint conference on November 30, at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh auditorium for unification of the party factions.
The decision was taken on Friday at a meeting of the Gonoforum coordination committee held at the Dhaka residence of Gonoforum faction leader Mostafa Mohsin Montu, a press release said.
The Gonoforum faction was formed two years ago splitting from the Gono Forum led by Dr Kamal Hossain.
On August 29, the two factions of the party held a joint programme at the National Press Club where emeritus president of Gono Forum Dr Kamal Hossain and Gonoforum faction leader Mostafa Mohsin Montu announced that the factions would hold a joint conference to form a single party.
The coronation committee chairman Mostafa Mohsin Montu, co- chairman SM Altaf Hossain, member secretaries Mohammad Mizanur Rahman and Subrata Chowdhury, and members of the coordination committee attended the meeting.
A new central committee of the party would be formed in the council session of the conference, the party sources said.
Gono Forum was formed on August 29 in 1993 at a programme held at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh electing Dr Kamal Hossain as president of the party.
