The Islami Andolan Bangladesh on Tuesday at a press conference said that they wanted a free, fair and credible general election under the interim government headed by Professor Muhammad Yunus.

Senior Nayeb-e-Amir of the party Syed Muhammad Foyzul Karim at the press conference at the party鈥檚 central office in Purana Paltan welcomed the interim government formed on August 8.


He also hoped that the government would hold a free, fair and credible general election after holding required reform within the shortest time, calling on the interim government to announce a roadmap about the next general election.

He also called on the political parties to give time for holding reforms of the constitution and Election Commission for holding the general election.

The interim government will be able to control the law and order and stop sectarian attacks in the country, hoped Foyzul Karim.

Foyzul Karim announced the party鈥檚 next programmes holding district and city conferences within August 21 to 31 and mass rallies in every upazila across the country from September 1 to 19.聽

Secretary general of the party Yunus Ahmad, presidium members Mahbubur Rahman, Sheikh Fazle Bari Masud, among others, attended the press conference.
