
Dwip Gallery organises a two-week group art exhibition titled Miniscope accommodating diverse genres of artworks comprised of various mediums at Lalmatia in the capital Dhaka.
Curated by chief coordinator of the Gallery, Manan Morshed, the exhibition displays 116 artworks of 56 artists.
‘The exhibition has collected artworks through an open call and a huge number of new artists from various circles have responded to the call,’ Manan said, adding that the idea of the exhibition is to create a space for interaction between art and society.
The exhibition displays the artworks with the theme of ‘small is beautiful’ within 45 centimetres in dimension mostly portraying contemporary art movements.
A drawing on paper with eyeshadow by artist Nabila Oriana titled Crowd shows people as small shapes from the top.
An acrylic on board painting titled Society by artist Nipa Gomes shows how a male-dominated society looks at women.
A mixed media painting titled Masks of the Mind by artist Rafia Mahjabeen Bushra shows a portrait of suppressed women.
Sumana Akter’s acrylic painting titled Punarjanma 2 shows the rebirth of trees which were cut by people.
Artists Arpita Mitra, Chhanda Singh, Farzana Ahmed Urmi, Helal Samrat, Jubayer Ahmed, Mohammd Asadurjaman Aslam Molla, Nur Munjerin Rimjhim, among others, partipating in the exhibition.
Inaugurated on Saturday, the exhibition will end on May 10.
