The 90th anniversary of the birth of renowned Bangladeshi artist Mustafa Monwar was celebrated at Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samity in Dhaka on Friday.

A large number of children participated in the event, which comprised puppet shows, drawing workshop and theatre show.


Inventors Puppets and Together WE CAN along with Cartoon People staged colorful puppet shows while theatre troupe BotTala staged its acclaimed production Banyathorium at the event.

Banyathorium, an adaptation of Sukumar Roy’s story titled ‘Hesoram Husiyaer Diary’, has been adapted and directed by Evan Riaz.

BotTala artistes Toufiq Bhuiyan, Kazi Rokasana Ruma, Mohammad Ali Haider, Mahbub Masum, Sumit Tewary and Hafiza Akter Zhuma, among others, played different characters in the play.
