Mime troupe Mime Art depicted contemporary issues organising a mime show at the studio theatre hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Sunday.
Director of the troupe Nithor Mahbub staged a performance titled 鈥楲ife is Beautiful鈥� promoting suicide awareness at the venue.
鈥楲ife is Beautiful鈥� revolves around a young man, who starts looking for a job after completing his studies. The members of his family become depressed because he fails to find a job. His beloved marries another person because her family would not accept an unemployed person. The young man becomes frustrated and burns all his academic certificates. He decides to commit suicide but his childhood memories inspire him to live on. He starts working as a day labourer and after overcoming many hurdles, he becomes a successful entrepreneur.
Besides, Nithor Mahbub staged seven more mime performances, including Bangladesh, Anushochana, Over Confidence, Bokar Circus, Atmaghat and others at the event.
The other performances address violence against women, eve-teasing, self-employment and other social issues.
