The Bangladesh archery team is scheduled to leave for Singapore on Saturday to take part in the Asia Cup-World Ranking Tournament stage-2 to be held at the Bukit Gombak Stadium from June 15 to 20.

The 14-member team consists of 11 players - seven male and four female – along with three officials, including German coach Martin Frederick, confirmed by the Bangladesh Archery Federation on Friday.

A total of 113 archers from 21 Asian countries, divided into two divisions with 58 in recurve and 55 in compound, are expected to take part in the competition.

This event will provide opportunities for archers to make an impression on their national selections for the World Archery Championships, which will be held in Gwangju, China, in September.

Among the Bangladesh archers, Sagor Islam, Abdur Rahman Alif, Ram Krishna Saha, and Rakib Mia will compete in the recurve men’s division, while Monira Akter will compete in the recurve women’s division.

Himu Bachhar, Nawaz Ahmed Rakib, and Sohel Rana will compete in the compound men’s division, while Bonna Akter, Puspita Zaman, and Kulsum Akter Moni will compete in the compound women’s division.
