Different cultural organisations observed May Day by arranging programmes at different venues in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Aranyak Natyadal, BotTala, Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi, Bibartan Sangskritik Kendra, Charan Sangskritik Kendra, Samageet, Teerandaj and others paid tribute to the working class organising programmes.


Theatre troupe Aranyak Natyadal organised a cultural show at the Central Shaheed Minar on Dhaka University campus in the morning and staged its play titled Company at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the evening.

Theatre troupe BotTala staged two shows of its theatre production titled ‘Rise and Shine’ at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samity on Bailey Road.

Under the banner of Protibadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangathansamuha, Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi, Bibartan Sangskritik Kendra, Ganasangskriti Kendra, Samhati Sangskriti Samsad, Samaj Anushilan Kendra, Bangladesh Ganashilpi Sangstha, Sangskritik Union, Raju Bitarka Angan, Charan Sangskritik Kendra, Samageet, Teerandaj, Bangladesh Theatre, Dhaka Drama, Theatre 52, Pragati Lekhak Sangha, Ranesh Dasgupta Chalachchitra Sangsad, Ei Banglay, Dhaka Drama, Bangladesh Mukabhinay Federation, Dhabaman Sahitya Andolan, Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani Parishad, Shahid Asad Parishad, among others, performed at a programme at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Rayer Bazzar.

Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation and Bangladesh Pathnatak Parishad jointly organised a programme at the Central Shaheed Minar at Dhaka University. The programme featured a discussion and staging of plays. Theatre troupes Dhaka Padatik, Prachyanat, Baatighar and Natnaadan staged street plays at the programme.

Besides, Terracotta Creatives paid tribute to the working class by organising a street exhibition at Satmasjid Road in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
