NRBC Bank on Thursday organised an open loan disbursement programme for marginalised, landless farmers and low-income professionals in Bhola, said a press release.
The event was held under the Bangladesh Bank’s refinancing scheme aimed at enhancing financial inclusion for grassroots communities.

Under the Bangladesh Bank’s Tk 750 crore refinancing fund, created for marginal farmers, landless people, low-income professionals, school banking account holders and small entrepreneurs with accounts of Tk 10/50/100, NRBC Bank has disbursed Tk 3.95 crore in loans to 137 customers in Bhola district alone, the release said.
Across the country, NRBC Bank has distributed Tk 150 crore from this fund. Beneficiaries can avail loans ranging from Tk 50,000 to Tk 5 lakh at a concessional interest rate of 7 per cent.
Speaking at the event, Rup Ratan Pine said that Bangladesh Bank’s financial inclusion initiative aimed to ensure that every citizen has at least one bank account.
He emphasised that through entrepreneurship and self-employment, people can contribute to national economic growth.
To support this goal, the Bangladesh Bank has established a refinancing fund, enabling commercial banks to provide low-interest loans to marginalized communities, he said.
