Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC on Sunday celebrated its 30th anniversary, said a press release.
The bank started its journey on September 27, 1995 with slogan of 鈥楢lways Shariah鈥�.
On the occasion of crossing this milestone, discussion meeting and prayers were organised at the bank鈥檚 head office and 226 branches and 89 sub-branches nationwide on Sunday.
Chairman of Khawaja Shahriar was present chief guest in the event held at the bank鈥檚 head office.
Among others, executive committee chairman Md Abdul Wadud, risk management committee chairman Md Shaheen Ul Islam and audit committee chairman Mohammad Ashraful Hasan were present.
Managing director (current charges) Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan presided over the function.
In his speech, Khawaja Shahriar thanked all the customers, well-wishers and partners on the occasion of the 30th anniversary and said, 鈥榊our trust, cooperation and love are the main motivation of our long journey. Restructuring Board of Directors by the Bangladesh Bank, we have embarked on a journey of positive change in the bank, the main foundation of which is corporate governance, transparency and accountability.鈥�
鈥榃e are the first Islamic bank in the country to introduce centralized reporting lines at key areas. Another important priority is digital transformation, through which we are providing modern technology-based services. Inshallah, Al-Arafah Islami Bank will be established as the best Islamic bank in the country,鈥� he said.
Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan expressed his gratitude to all customers, stakeholders and all officers of the bank and said, 鈥楢l-Arafah Islami Bank has reached its current position after completing 3 decades through the collective efforts of everyone.鈥�
He said, 鈥業n the past one year, many changes have taken place in our bank and with the completion of 3 decades, we have started a new journey. We have always tried to earn the trust of the people through technology-based services, ethical banking practices and welfare-oriented activities.鈥�
