Sonali Bank PLC on Tuesday awarded scholarship to 60 students from Dhaka district during a scholarship award ceremony held at the bank鈥檚 head office, said a press release.
The bank is providing Education Scholarship-2023 among 850 poor and meritorious students of secondary and higher secondary level across the country under its Corporate Social Responsibilities activities.
Sonali Bank chairman Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury handed over the scholarship money among the students as chief guest.
Social welfare ministry secretary and Sonali Bank director Mohammad Abu Yusuf, directors Mohammed Jahangir Alam, Md Mofazzal Husain, Tariqul Islam Chowdhury attended the function as special guests.
Sonali Bank managing director and chief executive officer Md Shawkat Ali Khan presided over the event.
Among others, deputy managing directors, general managers, deputy general managers, related officials and guardians of students were present on the occasion.
Principal offices in district level will provide rest of the scholarships to poor and meritorious students through organising programmes.
