NCC Bank PLC recently donated 1,000 umbrellas to members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said a press release.
NCC Bank chairman Md Nurun Newaz Salim symbolically handed over an umbrella to home affairs ministry senior secretary Nasimul Gani at an event at the ministry premises in the capital.
The bank made the donation as part of its corporate social responsibility.
NCC Bank deputy managing director Md Zakir Anam and corporate affairs and communications division head Md Anwar Hossain were also present at the event.
Expressing his gratitude, Nasimul Gani thanked NCC Bank authorities and expressed his hope that other corporate organisations would also contribute more in CSR activities.
Md Nurun Newaz Salim said that since its inception, NCC Bank had been working not only in banking operations but also in socio-economic development.
The bank does not merely focus on profit-making but has been extending its support in education, healthcare, agriculture and various other sectors as part of its social responsibility, he said.
In continuation of these efforts, 1,000 umbrellas have been provided for the members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, the release said.
